Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders are perfect for parties, gameday, movie night or whenever you want a fun dinner or appetizer. We love to use our pulled chicken, homemade ranch dressing and soft sweet Hawaiian rolls.

We have to admit that this recipe is a little out of our normal routine, nutrition-wise, but sometimes we want something a little different. This recipe definitely falls in the guilty pleasure category for us! That's because we take juicy chicken and toss it with ranch dressing, crispy chopped bacon and layer it between more ranch dressing, shredded cheese and soft sweet Hawaiian rolls. The tops of the rolls are then brushed in melted butter and sprinkled with garlic and onion powder before baking until bubbly and delicious.

    Ingredients that Matter

You'll find all these ingredients at your local grocery store:

    • Chicken. We love to use our Pulled Chicken in a Dutch Oven recipe for our chicken bacon ranch sliders. You'll want to use about 3 cups of pulled or shredded chicken for this slider recipe, and while we recommend our pulled chicken recipe, you can certainly use store bought rotisserie chicken if you prefer.
    • Ranch Dressing. Again, we prefer homemade when possible! Our ranch dressing has sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, garlic and onion powder and fresh chives. It makes about ¾ cup, which is the perfect amount to keep the chicken filling juicy without getting overly soggy.
    • Sweet Hawaiian Rolls. We love to use King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, the 12-count package. It's buttery soft and slightly sweet.
    • Bacon. We use four strips of crispy bacon chopped or torn into bite size pieces. Use your favorite brand, but we prefer a thick-cut bacon because it has, well, more bacon!
    • Cheese. You can choose your favorite melting cheese, like sharp cheddar cheese, provolone or even pepper jack, but we prefer Colby cheese. This recipe is pretty forgiving, so choose either deli sliced or shredded cheese. We prefer to buy a block of cheese and shred our own. Use about 4 ounces of cheese.

How to Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

Homemade ranch dressing in a small bowl unmixed.

Start by making homemade ranch dressing. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper and fresh chopped chives.

Sweet Hawaiian rolls cut in half and placed on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Cut the entire sheet of sweet Hawaiian rolls in half and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet (you can also put in a baking dish, if you prefer). Brush a few tablespoons of the ranch dressing on the bottom cut half of the rolls.

Toss remaining ranch dressing with pulled chicken and chopped crispy bacon. Add on top of the half of rolls spread with ranch dressing.

Add a layer of shredded cheese then place the top half of the rolls on top of the cheese. Brush with melted butter (optional) and sprinkle with more garlic and onion powder. Bake in a 350°F oven until the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.

How to Serve Bacon Chicken Ranch Sliders

Let the sliders cool slightly then place on a platter or serve directly on the baking sheet. Then go to town on it! Simply pull the rolls off one by one and enjoy. If you are serving at a party where you don't want grubby hands touching your food, you can cut each roll off and serve individually.

We love to serve these chicken bacon ranch sliders with potato chips, chopped fresh veggies and pickles.

Make a batch of the sliders for gameday or as an appetizer for a party.

For best flavor, we recommend eating these sliders just slightly warm or room temperature, but they are also delicious served cold. A note on food safety, since this is a mayo based recipe (plus there's chicken!), you want to refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours to avoid the spread of harmful bacteria.

Can you Make These Sliders Ahead?

Yes, in fact you can make them ahead of time! Here's our recommendations:

    • To assemble a day ahead, mix together the chicken, bacon and ranch dressing and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
    • Wait to brush the cut buns with ranch dressing until ready to bake.
    • Also, wait to brush the tops of buns with butter until ready to bake.
    • You can make the entire recipe a day ahead of time, cool to room temperature, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerator for up to 2 days. They taste great served cold! You can also leave them out on the counter for 20 minutes to come up to room temperature if you prefer, just remember not to leave them out for more than 2 hours!
