Description

Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders are perfect for parties, gameday, movie night or whenever you want a fun dinner or appetizer. We love to use our pulled chicken, homemade ranch dressing and soft sweet Hawaiian rolls.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, plus more as needed
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder, plus more as needed
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 3 cups shredded chicken (try our pulled chicken in Dutch oven recipe)
  • 4 pieces cooked bacon, roughly chopped
  • 1 pkg. King’s Original Sweet Hawaiian Rolls (12 oz. package)
  • 4 oz. shredded Colby cheese (or sharp cheddar or pepper jack), about 1 1/2 cup
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Stir together mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Set 3 tablespoons of the dressing aside. Add shredded chicken and bacon to large mixing bowl and toss to combine.
  3. Cut entire sheet of rolls in half. Brush reserved 3 tablespoons dressing on the bottom half of the sheet of rolls. Add chicken mixture on top then sprinkle with cheese. Place top half of buns on top and brush with butter, if using, and sprinkle with garlic and onion powder, if desired. Bake in oven until bubbly and the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.
  4. Set aside at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating. Serve hot or room temperature.

Notes

  • You can also use store bought rotisserie chicken, if desired.
  • Yes, in fact you can make them ahead of time! Here’s our recommendations:
    • To assemble a day ahead, mix together the chicken, bacon and ranch dressing and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
    • Wait to brush the cut buns with ranch dressing until ready to bake.
    • Also, wait to brush the tops of buns with butter until ready to bake.
    • You can make the entire recipe a day ahead of time, cool to room temperature, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerator for up to 2 days. They taste great served cold! You can also leave them out on the counter for 20 minutes to come up to room temperature if you prefer, just remember not to leave them out for more than 2 hours!
  • Wrap leftovers in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
